It's an El Norteno Evening in Curtiss, Wisconsin

It' an El Norteno Evening In Curtiss. Life just got to me, and I just drove from Ladysmith, Wisconsin to here. I was too tired to drive back to Green Bay, WI were I'm from. I'm going to spend the night in the Abbyland Truck stop like I normally do when going up north. Incidentally, this is the same place where my car stalled two years ago driving up to Ladysmith. I remember then it was near bitter cold in late August.

This time around, it's a warm 60+ degrees:

and it's expected to get into the 90s tomorrow, so I don't expect to freeze tonight. Besides, I have more money this time around, some blankets, and AAA for at least another month, so I don't expect to get cold.

If anything, I will feel bullets of smoldering sweat release from me as I stretch out in the back seat of my car to sleep tonight. I already had that experience while crashing in the Walmart parking lot for three nights in a row earlier this week.

Anyway, here in Curtis it's a fairly quiet night. I'm sitting at a Mexican-themed bar having a few Buds on tap trying to forget that I might lose my sisters forever because they are now in a foster home. 

My life would change dramatically if I adopt them. For instance, I probably won't spend very many weekends at this truck stop by myself anymore. But all that is an aside -- too much drama for a travel story. 

However, I must admit I went on this tangent about my sisters because they're the reason I even go to Ladysmith, WI in the first place. 

However, right now I just wanna try to enjoy my weekend somewhat -- think of all I could do if I didn't have to be concerned about my sisters. I could travel the world and not have a care at all for anything or anyone 

I admit I've been guilty of wanting to say hurtful things to people who say hurtful things to me. However, I know from experience this is not the best policy.

I cannot control what people say to me. but I have to admit it can be hard sometimes when people repeatedly say demeaning things to be over and over again. I often just want to say something even more mean back (and unfortunately more times that I am willing to admit have done so).

I am hoping others can be warned that trying to get even by hurting someone who has hurt you is not the best way to live. You may think you have won, but in the end you have lost because you have stooped to their level.

Life is too short to stay depressed for way too long.

I'm not sure what is worse-being in love with someone who is not in love with me or not being in love with someone who is in love with me.

My mom told me I never listen to anyone. On the contrary, all my life I listened to people way too much. I am realizing the importance of learning autonomy and individuality.

Think about it: We spend at least a third of our lives working, and that's only when we work 8 hrs. 

Think about it: We actually spend a third of our lifetime sleeping if we sleep 8 hrs at night. (Think about it)

When I was younger I read I should wait to get married until I am financially, emotionally, and spiritually stable. I wish I had never listened.  

Maybe the reason I have 20/20 visit (or close to it still) is because I've cried quite a bit in my lifetime.

You should be careful not to pass opportunities up while chasing the "one that got away."
